Privacy policy

Last updated October 5, 2026. This policy describes the private household installation of Household AI and its optional Gmail integration.

Access and use

Each enrolled adult separately authorizes Gmail read-only access and permission to send email. The assistant can search messages, retrieve message text and headers, and send plain-text messages from that adult’s mailbox to recipients they specify. Access is selected from the authenticated WebUI account. The tutoring account is excluded.

Email is used to answer household requests and carry out requested email tasks. Email content may become part of a saved WebUI chat. Users should review recipients and intended text before requesting a send.

Storage and processing

The household computer stores private OAuth client configuration and refresh tokens. Gmail API requests and authorization use Google’s services. AI processing occurs on the household computer with the installed local model. Retrieved email included in chat may remain in the WebUI database and recovery backups.

Private application recovery backups on the household’s TrueNAS server include chats and Gmail authorization tokens. These ordinary archives have no separate encryption password; access is governed by existing server and NAS permissions. The household administrator can access the installation and backups.

Sharing

Connecting two accounts does not automatically share their mail. Users can choose to place chat content into shared household projects. Requested email sends disclose the message and addresses to Google and the selected recipients. Google user data is not sold, used for advertising, or used to train a general-purpose AI model by this installation.

Retention and controls

Users can revoke Household AI’s access in their Google Account’s third-party connections settings. Revocation stops future authorized access; it does not remove already saved chats or backup copies. Contact the household administrator to remove local account tokens or saved content and discuss retention of existing backups.

The household administrator maintains this installation and this policy. Contact them through your usual household communication channel.

Household AI’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
